Don & Marks RV 7
Our latest project. RV-7 Owned by: Mark Stein & Don Trizzino
The tail going on. 3/19/2006
Fairings Inc. tail fairing in place.
TMX IO-390 Installed
Today we fitted the wings for the first time. 9/09/06
N407ST Almost ready for the paint shop.
RV's Everywhere. There's two more in my other hangar next door.
Three more items and off to the paint shop.
This is probably the most time consuming job on an RV.
1/31/2007 Today Don delivered his freshly painted RV 7 back to our shop.
This one is going to be a real beauty. We're shooting for an April First flight.
Looks like an RV 7 factory.........
The baffles have been completed and the airseal fabric will be the next step.
Note in the picture that the alternate air door has been installed.
The oil cooler has been installed. I added a piece of .063 aluminum to this
section of the baffle to stiffen it. I found out that when baffling an 0-390 you just
don't take the parts out of the box and bolt them on. A lot of thought and a little
engineering must be done to complete this task.
The airbox assembly has been completed. Every time that I do one of these
I end up carving some fiberglass away and doing a little remolding. You can
see in the picture that this one hit the alternator. Every installation is just a
little different. 2/16/2007
2/28/2007 The wings were hung yesterday. Today I fabricated the fuel and vent lines. Next Wednesday will be the day
we bring this beast to life. First engine run. Not sure what paint Mark used on this airplane but it has a shine that will
knock your socks off.
Today N506ST received it's airworthieness certificate. Unfortunately the winds were blowing too hard for the first flight.
This is one beautiful RV 7. Looks like Friday will be the big day.
There it is, The famous RV GRIN..............
On Saturday May 19,2007 N506ST took to the sky for it's first flight. The weather was severe clear with 5 knots blowing
right down the runway.
The flight was uneventful and everything was in the green. It lasted for about a half an hour. Here's Don making a low pass
at 170 kts.
Good job Don, Let's Party...................
Captain Don Trizzino, chute and all.
The Post Flight Inspection. Everything is clean and dry.
Now there's the real RV Grin. Congratulations to Don and Mark from Tom, Nickie, and Putz. Job well done. We hope
that you enjoy many happy hours flying your new airplane. Look out OSHKOSH...............
