Wayne Dawson RV 7A
On November 14, 2006 Wayne Dawson from North Carolina brought his RV-7A to our shop.
Wayne and his wife took our basic RV Course a little over a year ago. We also helped him
build his tail kit and complete his wings. We're looking forward in helping Wayne put all the
big pieces together and make his dream come true. (Pictures to follow)
Check out this Panel..YO MA MA!!!!!!!!!!
Wayne has been at my shop now for two weeks and is kicking RV BUTT!!!
January18,2007, Waynes 7 is moving along....
This week I sure got a lot of tail.................HA!!!!!!!!!!
The firewall has been prepped and we are ready for an engine.
Measure Twice, then Drill Once
Here's Wayne cutting the holes in the forward bulkhead to clear the SL 30's.
The instrument panel is in. This was no small task. This was supposed to be
a modular panel (NOT) After it was all wired up on the bench it became a one
piece panel.
This is a picture of the fiberglass rear canopy skirt that I made. Everyone that I make gets a
little better.
6/6/2007 Today we installed the wingtips. I have to admit that these are the best fitting
tips that I have ever installed.
This is beginning to look like an airplane. This week the wings, ailerons, flaps, and wingtips were installed.
I like these overhead shots. The rigging on this RV was right on the money.
July25,2007 First engine run. This is an IO-360 from G & N. It sure sounds good.
Today September 1, 2007 Wayne made the first flight of his beautiful RV-7A. The aircraft handled perfectly. Wayne flew
over the airport for about 45 minutes and made a textbook first landing. The engine is an IO-360 from G & N and it runs great.
At 25" square Wayne was indicating 156kts at 3500'. All temps and pressures were perfect.
Here's the RV GRIN from Wayne after his flight. This marks the 5th first flight for us in a little under three years at
Rostraver Airport.
This is why we do what we do. Do ya think that Wayne is happy????????????
We always celebrate with a bottle of champagne. Here Wayne shares the last few drops with N797KW.
Congradulations to Wayne from Nickie, Tom, and Putz. WPA RV BUILDERS
